Representing Juvenile Immigrants CLE

The Pro Bono Project is excited to announce that we are partnering with Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans and the Louisiana Immigration Working Group to begin providing representation to undocumented juvenile immigrants seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). The Immigrant Children’s Defense Coalition (ICDC) will provide ongoing mentorship and technical support for volunteer attorneys.

Join us as we launch a series of workshops dedicated to training volunteer lawyers. Our first ICDC volunteer cohort will meet with mentors at a CLE seminar on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Staff members of Catholic Charities will provide an overview of immigration law, as well as information and practice tips specific to SIJS cases. The law firm of Baker Donelson, 201 St. Charles Ave., Suite 3600, has agreed graciously to host the seminar.  While registration is free, we ask that those who attend agree to accept representation in a SIJS case. Space is limited for this first ICDC volunteer cohort. Register today.
